Vinny is a lovely horse who competes up to 1.30. Kate has a great relationship with Vinny and they have a lot of success together. 

Kate flys the flag for America and is based at Old Granary Stables with her two lovely horses, Vinny and Diamond. We love having Kate on the team and can’t wait to watch her compete and progress!

As we head into our winter season and indoor shows, we thought we should have a recap on summer at Old Granary Stables!

Shortly after our first trip to Hickstead in June, we said goodbye to two great horses from our stables. Both 7 year olds, Luigi and Qlipper Blossom headed off to new homes. Although it was very difficult to see them go, we’ve enjoyed watching them both competing with their new owners. 

It was a dream to have 2 young horses in our yard like Luigi and Qlipper Blossom, and produce them to their 7 year old year and we will now enjoy following their success with the new riders. 💙💫

Throughout the rest of the summer, we’ve been focusing on training the horses and clients left at home, as well as welcoming new members to the team! 💪🏼

We also welcomed an old face back to the yard. Zeitgeist (Eric) has come home to drop down and enjoy life. 👴🏼 
We have spent the last month going to local shows with Lulu jumping Eric, and new rider Flo with her horse Liancara. Both horses have been coming home with results in 1st or 2nd place! 🥇🥈

Another old face who has returned to the yard is Poppy! After completing racing school, Poppy has come back to OGS as our full time weekday and show groom! 👏🏼 

We now have some indoor shows planned with our team of new and old faces. Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates and videos of our winter show preparations! 💙💫
 




The start of winter season 

The team had a very successful trip to the first Hickstead of the season! We had 3 horses competing from our stables, with a couple of other horses and riders jumping who also train with us. ✨

Qlipper Blossom VD Bleuken produced nothing but impressive clear rounds throughout the show, starting our Hickstead season as we mean to go on! 

Hannah and Flynn jumped some great rounds, which included being placed out of a class of nearly 200 riders!  

Ellie and OS Chateau Latour had a very successful show, stepping up to the 1.20 classes with ease, looking promising for the summer ahead. 

All of the OGS students showcased their work and training we have been doing  throughout the year to work towards jumping these more technical and challenging tracks like the ones at Hickstead. All horses and riders did the team proud!

Now back to work, to prepare for the next show. 🫶

Hickstead round up! ✨

It a very successful show for Amalie and her two ponies at David Broom Event Centre. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 
Amalie jumped clears every day with both ponies, Kriso and Misty, coming home with multiple placings.🏵️

The highlight for the Bearman’s was the final day on Sunday with Ollie winning the F2 race in Barcelona in the morning! 🏎️ Not to be outdone by his sister, Amalie then finished her show by winning her final class in the afternoon with Kriso, and talking 5th place on Misty! 🥇

Amalie rode each round to plan throughout the weekend, putting into place everything we have been working on at home and continuing to build her bond with Misty. 

We have a very exciting summer ahead for this team, going from strength to strength each show!  We’re very proud to have Amalie on the Old Granary team and love helping her learn and progress each week. 

Winning in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 

We’ve all been busy on the yard working and training in preparation for the next shows. Both the horses and ponies have been out weekly at training shows, which enables our riders to have the show courses and atmosphere but without the pressure. 
These shows have been great to get our team set up for the busy few months we all have coming up! This week Luigi, Jabari,Qlipper Blossom and KPH Flynn all attended Codham training show, each jumping great rounds ready to get back into a competition.🏵️

The rider of the week is Hannah Brown. The training and dedication Hannah has put into her riding has impressed everyone and now her hard work is showing through her great results, stepping up and jumping clear round 1.10. 💫 We are so proud of Hannah and can’t wait to see her and Flynn  continue to progress throughout the summer! 💙💫

Next up for the ponies is 3 days competing at the Wales mixed show. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 
Amalie will be jumping her 2 ponies, Coshla Phillipa and Krisoleto Van Orchid. 
Ready to put all of Amalie’s hard work into practice. 💪🏼 

Training, training, and more training!

A successful weekend was had for the horses at Dallas Burton! 
Luigi, Qlipper Blossom, Jabari and Os Chateau Latour all jumped some great clears, picking up placings and jumping impressive rounds! 🚀 

Qlipper Blossom was the star of day 1, finishing 7th in a strong class.  🏵️ 

Luigi and Chateau Latour came out on top for day 2, jumping great clears for lower placings. 🏵️

The final day was Jabari’s time to shine, finishing the show with a 5th place. 🏵️

The Old Granary pony team was also out competing this weekend with Amalie and Tabby, all coming home with clears and promising rounds! The next show for the whole team will be the mixed show at Wales. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 

Our work and training throughout the winter is paying off, with each horse, pony and rider improving every show we go too. 

The summer season is looking very exciting for our team! 💙🫶

Dallas is done ✔️ 

The Old Granary team had another great show this weekend. This time it was Tabby’s turn to bring home the rosettes, coming back with a 1st and 2nd place. 🥇🥈 

Tabby has been training with us for a few months now, proving to be a talented rider with an exciting future ahead! It’s been great watching Tabby progress over the last few months, each show coming home with a placing and improving and week. We love having Tabby on the team and can’t wait to watch her progress further in her showjumping career. 🚀

The pony Old Granary team is looking strong and we have a very exciting summer of shows planned for both the ponies and horses! 💙💫

Winning weekend 🥇🥈

The team had a great show overall at Addington at their first outdoor show back! 

All horses jumped some fantastic clear rounds, with Hannah and Ellie both stepping up a class with very promising results!

Nemo and Luigi jumped each day in the 7 year old classes, coming home with super rounds with Nemo jumping clear every day. 

Jabari jumped the Foxhunter each day, finishing up with a 4th place on the last day in a fast class! 🦁 

All horses jumped clear on the final day, making a very positive one! 🫶 

It was great to be back jumping outside at Addington. We’re lucky to have such a good centre to compete at with super rings and good courses. Ready to book for the next show there! ☀️

Outdoors at Addington! ☀️ 

Last week the pony team headed to Wales for Amalie to compete Misty and Kriso. 

This was the first stay away show of the year for Amalie, and only her 2nd show with Misty! 

It was a very successful show with ponies and rider improving drastically and stepping up a class each day.

In training we’ve been focusing on learning how to walk and ride related distances, dog legs, and being level throughout a course. 
Amalie showcased her training in the ring, producing some fantastic clear rounds each day, including a 2nd in the Newcomers on day 2 with Kriso. 

The team ended the show with 2 great rounds with Misty in the 1m and Kriso in the 1.10m, both finishing round their highest course to date. 
The summer season is going to be very exciting for Amalie and the ponies, keep up the hard work and good results! 

The next show for the Granary team is Addington for 3 days  this week with the horses. Fingers crossed we can all continue with Amalie’s streak and also have a successful show! 💙💫


Wales round up!

Earlier in the year we had a new member join the team for our youngest rider, Amalie Bearman. 

Amalie now has a very exciting new mare called Coshla Philippa (Misty) to run alongside her other 148 Kriso.  We’ve spend the last few weeks training at home and at school hires to give the new combination time to get to know one another. 

We spend a couple of weeks focusing on flat and pole work, which helped Amalie understand the importance of ride ability in the ponies, and the ground work that has to go into them to enable the ponies and rider to perform to best of their abilities. 
Amalie’s hard work over half term paid off as ventured out on Sunday to a show with both ponies, to come home with multiple placings and clear rounds!

Amalie and Misty jumped 2 perfect clears in the British Novice and Discovery, a very promising start for these two. Amalie stuck to plan we had made during our course walk to produce textbook rounds with both ponies, also jumping clear with Kriso. 

Amalie showed knowledge and talent beyond her years the last few weeks by learning every  day and putting everything she had learnt into practise at the show. It’s very impressive to walk the course with an 11 year old and have her understand and take on board each instruction, distance and which lines to ride to each fence to then see her riding exactly how we had planned to in the ring. 

It was a great start to the outdoor season for our pony team, with a very exciting summer ahead! Top job Amalie. 👏🏼





Amalie is this weeks star ⭐️ 

We are lucky to have show centres such as Addington holding training shows for us to attend through the winter. These training days enable the horses and riders to warm up in a show environment, but train in the ring without the pressure of a show, allowing combinations to train and improve. 

The whole team had a very successful day on Sunday, with all horses jumping clear! 
Hannah took her two horses, Scooby and Flynn, both jumping great rounds. 
Lulu took 4 from the yard, each of them feeling great and jumping clear. 💙💫

Thank you to the team at Addington for running these training days, and keeping everything going so smoothly and efficiently! We can’t wait to go back! 

Amalie Bearman was also out representing the Old Granary team with her ponies, Kriso and new pocket rocket Misty. 🚀 Amalie produced some great rounds, riding with maturity far beyond her years. The year is going to be very exciting for Amalie and her ponies, with big things planned! We will continue training this week before heading out to another show at the weekend for this great little team. 👌🏼



 

Luigi one of the easiest horses we have ever had in. He is another real gentleman to have on the yard. He has an incredible amount of scope and is a pleasure to do in all ways. He will certainly excel in any sphere, and be a real asset to any rider.
